Courses

Cambridge Orthopaedics is dedicated to orthopaedic education and runs the following courses at The Evelyn Surgical training centre in Cambridge. The first fingertips to shoulder course was run in 2012 and has been run yearly since. The Elbow Approaches and Trauma Masterclass has been run in Edinburgh, Cambridge, London and Cape Town.

Fingertips to Shoulder course

This course is primarily aimed at Orthopaedic surgeons in training (Registrars). It has an interactive lecture based theory component on all injuries of the upper limb and cadaver session covering all the common surgical approches to the upper limb

Toes to Pelvis Course

This course is primarily aimed at Orthopaedic surgeons in training (Registrars). It has an interactive lecture based theory component on all injuries to the lower limb and cadaver session covering all the common surgical approches to the lower limb

Damage Control Orthopaedic Trauma course

This course is aimed at senior trainees and established Consultant Orthopaedic surgeons. It refreshes and updates the concepts of damage control orthopaedics for the emergency management of acute severe orthopaedic injuries. It refreshes the common and emergency approaches required for the management of acute orthopaedic emergencies and the initial management/ stabilisation of the multiply injured patient.

Elbow Approaches and Trauma Masterclass

This course is aimed at established Consultant Orthopaedic surgeons and upper limb fellows with an interest in elbow surgery. It is a 2 day hands on course of interactive lectures and cadaver sessions. Demonstraing and allowing practice of all the surgical approaches to the elbow and discussing the applicability to elbow injuries.

The Artisan Elbow Course

This course is aimed at Consultant upper limb Orthopaedic surgeons and fellows with a special interest in Elbow surgery. It comprises 3 components. 1. Online videos - Online access to view all the surgical approaches to the elbow. 2. Discussion day - Small group discussion of all elbow injuries. 3. Cadaver day - Practical cadaver dissection day to appply the theory.
