Femur overview

If femur fracture:

• Usual rule of radiology in trauma (Rule of 2's)
• make sure you have good views of ipsilateral hip, to exclude ipsilateral femoral neck fracture.
• Look closely at / measure thickness of medullary cavity, most likely will need intramedullary nail

Fracture in Subtrochanteric region look closely make sure it is not pathological

Supracondylar region 9 cm from knee joint
